Canvas Night Lights

I have really enjoyed making these night lights for my family & friends. They are fun to make and brighten up those ordinary night lights.

I use 4x4 canvas and stick on letters of the saying I want. I then paint over it with several coats of acrylic paint & peel off the stickers.  Here's what they look like when finished:

Then I super glue them to my special night lights and here's the finished product!

State Love

I ordered my home state Montana from Darby Smart's website and was anxious to work on it.
I painted the wooden state several times with white acrylic paint. I then made a heart stencil and taped it securely to the wood to make sure I would get clean lines. After that, I lathered on modge podge and sprinkled tons of hot pink glitter...my favorite!
I removed the stencil & voila...a finished product to hang on my wall.
It was fast, fun & I can't wait to make more!

Baby Shower Fun

Here are pictures from my sister's baby shower that I hosted.
The decorations were a result of MANY pins via Pinterest. We had a blast planning.

It was very nice being surrounded by so many friends and family. This sweet little bundle will be blessed to have such amazing people to love her. We can't wait until her arrival!

Sharing Cards With Addie Lynn

I thoroughly enjoyed putting together the November My Paper Pumpkin. It came with lots of supplies including punched snowflakes, washi tape and rhinestones. It was one of the more time-consuming kits, but so much fun.

Because my family sends out picture Christmas cards, I was thinking of giving my Paper Pumpkin cards as a gift. Then I saw this story on the Today Show and the Stampin' Up! website:

I was so excited to share the cards from my kit with this sweet 6 year old. If you have the time, please think about donating to this cause as well.

May God bless Addie Lynn and all of you this Christmas season.

August Paper Pumpkin Craft Kit

It was a cozy, rainy, EARLY morning at our house today, so I decided to get out my August PP kit that arrived a couple weeks ago. This kit took me about 45 minutes to put together & I've already mailed out one of the cards. Here's what my table looked like when I got out all of the supplies:

This was a fun kit to assemble. The stamps are versatile and I love the bright colors of the paper. I enjoyed assembling this style of envelope too.
Here are a few examples of my finished product:

By 7:30am I had had my coffee and my creative fix. Pretty good for a Saturday morning!

Order your kit by September 10 and get the next 2 kits at half off (use the promo code HALFOFF2).

DIY Kit Design

I was recently selected to design a project for one of my favorite craft companies, Darby Smart.
If you have never heard of Darby Smart check them out here:

They design and sell great DIY kits with everything you need to complete the project. It arrives at your doorstep in this awesome blue box.

My first experience with Darby Smart was the Baggu tote seen here:
It came with a quality Baggu tote, large USA stencil & fabric markers. The project was so much fun to do & I use they bag daily.
When I saw that Darby Smart was looking for designers, I decided to apply. A couple weeks later I was told I had been accepted! I was given $50 to shop the supplies in Darby Smart's store and come up with my own project.
It was such a blast! After a couple ideas, I finally submitted this fabric necklace DIY project using Darby Smart's wooden beads, fabric and modge podge.

A couple weeks later I received word that this necklace was accepted and will be available for other crafters and DIYers to purchase and assemble. Yay!
The launch date is scheduled for September 5th. I'm very excited to see how Darby Smart will roll out this kit.
It was such a dream to be able to design a craft kit for a company I love. Please visit Darby Smart and check out the cool kits they offer.

Clothespin People

I saw this craft on Pinterest & had to try it. These little people make me smile. Besides clothespins, I used a heavy-duty marker, tulle ribbon & hot glue. They are fun & easy to make.

I hope these made you smile. Have a great day & thanks for stopping by my blog!

Fourth of July Banner

After receiving this months Paper Pumpkin craft kit, I knew I wanted to make a banner along with the suggested ideas that came with the kit.

This kit came with stamps, ink, 24 red & white paper straws, 24 treat bags & the supplies to make 24 six inch patriotic pinwheels.

I coupled my SU Celebration banner with these pinwheels to make my banner.

I plan on packaging up some yummy candy in the treat bags & clipping on a pinwheel to give out at our celebration.

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is perfect for decorating at our Independence Day celebration! Have a great 4th!

Keeping Busy With Washi Tape

While looking for projects to keep my 4 year old busy this first week of summer vacation, I came across my many rolls of washi tape & an old box from the monthly makeup kit, Birchbox. My daughter had a blast! Here are the before and after pics:

The following day we grabbed an old frame I had laying around & her "new" box of washi tape & here is her finished project (she even got to pick out her favorite picture to put in the frame):

When I walked in her room to tuck her in, I found the "new" frame on her night stand.

It's so fun to watch children create & see the sense of pride they get from their finished products. Crafting is fulfilling at any age. :)
